Back in the old days, you could canoe up the Wisconsin River and enter Central Wisconsin through Castle Rock Lake. You would pass by Big Roche A Cri creek or Kayak or canoe upstream to Big Roche A Cri lake. Before the dams you could boat through to Lake Petenwell just north of Hwy 21. Central Wisconsin has been the vacation place for many years.
